Not dead yet

Des Moines – The American Funeral Directors Association today announced that they will standardize a list of tags for the social media updates of their members.

A spokesperson for the AFDA issued the following statement

'After the unfortunate string of events in the last few weeks, we recognize the need for clearer semantics. By encouraging our members to add appropriate tags such as '#deceased' or '#notdeadyet' to tweets and Facebook updates regarding their clients, we expect to significantly reduce the sort of confusion that contributed to the recent tragedies'.
In a separate announcement, the AFDA indicated they will be reviewing the current policies for 'Expeditious Dirt Removal' – specifically the recommended maximum time allowed for unearthing caskets in an emergency.

I heard that funeral directors have a technical term for the living; they are referred to as "pre-needs customers". That's quite long for a hash-tag, though.
